Iga Kowalczyk

Iga Kowalczyk, soprano, was born in Gdynia, Poland. She studied singing first in her hometown, then in Lyon, France, to finally complete a Master's degree at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Genève, Switzerland, in Heidi Brunner's class in 2023.
During her studies, she participated in master classes with i. a. Soile Isokoski, Roger Vignoles, Nikolay Borchev, Jasmin Solfaghari, Nicolas Chesneau, Giuseppe Ravì, Susanne Schimmack and Abigail Richards. In 2019, she was part of the production of Einstein on the Beach by Ph. Glass at the Grand Théâtre de Genève, the Swiss premiere of the opera conducted by Titus Engels. In 2020, she performed the role of 1ère Commère in Angélique by J. Ibert. She came back to the Grand Théâtre de Genève the same year with a song program during the Antigel Festival. She performed as a soloist in many different programs and concerts in France, Switzerland, USA and Germany, promoting Polish music abroad. Her artistic interests and a special love for romantic and post romantic repertoire guided her to Germany, where in 2022 she joined Hermine May's singing class at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Rostock, thanks to the Erasmus+ scholarship.

In June 2023, Iga has graduated from the HEM de Genève performing A. Schönberg's Erwartung op. 17 with chamber orchestra under the baton of Judith Baubérot.
In February 2024, Iga has performed at the finale of Richard-Wagner Wettbewerb in Leipzig, Germany. In October 2024, she will create the role of Die Weiβe Knochenfrau in Die Reise nach Westen by Y. Chen in Rostock.

Currently Iga is completing a Master Bühnengesang degree at the HMT Rostock in Hermine May's class. In addition to her musical interests, she pursues her linguistic talents, speaking currently 7 foreign languages and learning always more.

Jiayu Jin

Jin Jiayu, soprano, graduated from the "Giuseppe Verdi" Conservatory in Milan in 2021 with the highest marks and honors, later she has been studying under the famous contralto Sonia Prina.
Specializing in baroque singing and chamber music, she has performed as a soloist on the stages of important music festivals including the Rome Baroque Festival, Bremen Musikfest, and Naples Sacred Music Festival, and has collaborated with renowned orchestras such as La Risonanza and Europa Galante.
Highly appreciated as an opera singer, Jiayu Jin made her debut in France, Poland, Germany, Italy under the direction of renowned conductors in the role "Maddalena" in the oratorio "Maddalena at the feet of Christ" by Antonio Caldara, "Flora" in Giovanni Bononcini's 'Proteo sul Reno', "Onestà" in "I'll Trionfo dell'Onestà", "Morgana" in G.Haendel's "Alcina", "Clorinda" in "La Cenerentola" by Gioachino Rossini, “a Fanciulle-Fiore di Klingsor" in Parsifal by Wagner, "Susanna" in "Le Nozze di Figaro" by Mozart.
In 2023, she received further recognition by winning the special prize and the "La Spagna" prize at the "Cavalli Monteverdi" International Baroque Competition in Cremona.

Giulia Maccabei

Consegue presso il Conservatorio di Musica di Perugia: la Laurea di I Livello in Didattica della Musica con lode e menzione d’onore, la Laurea di I Livello in Canto lirico con lode e la Laurea di II Livello in Didattica della Musica con lode e menzione d’onore sotto la guida del M° Antonio Pantaneschi. Si perfeziona nel repertorio barocco con il M° Andreas Scholl presso l’Accademia Chigiana di Siena e con il M° Marina de Liso presso l'Accademia lirica di Padova. Nell’a.a. 22/23 ha frequentato il Corso di “Canto Rinascimentale e Barocco” tenuto dal M° Elena Biscuola presso il Conservatorio di Musica di Perugia.

Fa parte dell’Ensemble di musica antica “La Douss’aura” come voce solista e strumentista (Viella) e del Coro della Cappella Musicale della Basilica papale di S. Francesco di Assisi con cui partecipa a registrazioni audio-video, celebrazioni in diretta RAI e concerti su tutto il territorio nazionale. È ideatore, arrangiatore e direttore del Coro scenico femminile “Cantadora” con cui si esibisce nello spettacolo “Maria’s Memory” - rielaborazione liberamente tratta dall’opera “West Side story” di L. Bernstein.

Nel 2022 è vincitrice dell’audizione indetta dal Circolo della Lirica di Padova per la messa in scena dell’opera “Dido and Ænas” di H. Purcell presso la Sala del Ridotto del Teatro Comunale di Ferrara. Nel 2023 è finalista del XVII Concorso di Musica Internazionale di Canto Barocco “Premio Fatima Terzo”.

Ha debuttato ne: “Ziguenerlieder” Op.55 di A. Dvorak. “Dodici Lieder e Romanze” op.44 di J. Brahms, “Litaniae Lauretanae” K109 di W.A. Mozart, “Requiem" K626 di W.A. Mozart nella trascrizione di C. Czerny per pianoforte a quattro mani, "Missa Brevis" per soli, coro e orchestra in Re minore K65 (61 a) di W.A. Mozart, “Te Deum” K141 di W.A. Mozart, "Via Crucis - Le 14 stazioni della Croce" S53 per soli, coro e pianoforte di F. Liszt. “Dido and Ænas” di H. Purcell (Sorceress/Spirit).

Ha partecipato a: “Bach Festival” di Perugia, Festival “Emozioni Umbre – Paesaggi Musicali”, Festival “Giovani Concertisti” di Castel Rigone, “La Grande Classica al Borgo” stagione concertistica dell’A.Gi.Mus di Perugia, “Terre in Festival” di Sansepolcro, “Chiostri acustici” di San Sepolcro, “Assisi Pax Mundi” di Assisi, “Note d’In...chiostro” di Assisi, “Piccolo Opera Festival” di Udine.

The selected winners will receive a cache of 300 eu (lordi) for their performance
