The English gentleman Phileas Fogg, from London, and his new French assistant Jean Passepartout on October 2, 1872, attempt to circumnavigate the globe in 80 days, to win a bet of 20,000 pounds made with the other members of the Reform Club.
Jules Verne, attentive to the continuous technological innovations that are revolutionizing the world, takes inspiration from the real adventure of a well-known American entrepreneur: George Francis Train who in 1870 circumnavigates the globe in 80 days.
From the circle of life, with the sequence of birth, youth, maturity and death and from the spiritual tradition where the path to salvation passes through the four degrees of the Scala Dei, reading, meditation, prayer and contemplation, this journey is marked by four moments.
The bet as a search for one’s own limits and confirmation of one’s own predictions, Love as
the possibility of coming into contact with worlds and cultures foreign to us where, magically, we will
meet ourselves, the progress that makes the world smaller and smaller and finally the dream where you find victory in the moment when you think that all is lost.
A journey that is a mix of thought, sensitivity and music and brings together beyond time and
space unimaginable languages and poetics.
